Azerbaijan attending international tourism exhibition in Spain
Baku, February 1 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev is participating in the International FITUR Tourism Fair in Madrid, Spain.
Azerbaijan`s 51sq m-pavilion is featuring presentation of the country`s tourism potential, including must-see-places, cultural-historical monuments, hotels and other places by the use of books, booklets and CDs in the English language.
Fitur, the international tourism fair, ranks as one of the chief tourism sector trade events in Spain. Organized at the Feria de Madrid, the show draws in more than 209260 visitors at each of its editions - a clear indication of the popularity of the event. Tour and travel agency services, hotels and resorts, coach facilities and a host of other tourist destinations are showcased during the Fitur Show, which is attended by over 10434 professional exhibitors, hailing from as many as 166 different countries. A series of topical seminars and meeting sessions are also organized at the show and eminent journalists from more than 59 nations are also present here. The show enjoys the official support of over 200 statutory governmental bodies and takes up a total space of 150000 square meters.

The event consists of the “International Tourism Forum” to discuss issues on the development of the tourism industry, the “International Business Meeting” where international sellers and buyers gather for new business opportunities.
Abulfaz Garayev, as part of his visit, has met his counterparts from Argentine Carlos Enrique Meyer, Andorra Francesc Camp Torres and Spanish Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel Borrego.
They exchanged views on prospects of bilateral relations in tourism sphere, as well as signing cooperation agreements in the relevant sphere and discussion of such concrete projects.
Mr. Garayev provided information on international World Inter-Cultural Dialogue Forum to be held in Baku on May 29 to June 1 and invited the Ministers to participate in the forum.
