AZERBAIJAN, ISRAEL DISCUSS COOPERATION PROSPECTS
Baku, February 10 (AZERTAC). Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
Lieberman hailed current level of bilateral relations, stressing the importance of “expanding the legal basis which regulates intergovernmental ties”.
The Israeli FM praised “friendLY” ties of Jews community living in Azerbaijan with local people, describing it as “a vivid evidence” to tolerance in the country.
Mammadyarov said Azerbaijanis living in Israel and the Jewish community in his country play “great” role in developing the bilateral ties.
The Azeri minister said both countries have “huge” potential to further boost cooperation in economic, cultural, humanitarian, education and health fields.
The two also exchanged views on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Mammadyarov gave information about ongoing talks over the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, noting “Azerbaijani IDPs must return to their homes and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan must be restored”.
The Israeli FM also informed his Azeri counterpart on recent developments in the Middle East.
