Azerbaijan, Italy discuss development prospects of relations in field of education
Baku, May 16 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan’s Minister of Education Misir Mardanov has today met Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mario Corco Stefano Baldi.
Minister Misir Mardanov spoke of Azerbaijan-Italy relations in field of education.
Mardanov underlined developed cooperation between the universities of two countries and its importance.
He also touched upon the issue of teaching Italian language in Azerbaijan.
“A certain number of Azerbaijani students have been educated in Italy on the sidelines of “State Program on education of Azerbaijani youth abroad in the years 2007-2015”, the Minister stressed.
Italian Ambassador Mario Baldi gave detailed information on education system in Italy and reforms carried out in the fields of pre-school, primary, secondary and vocational education.
Mario Baldi reminded of prestigious high schools operating in Italy and special development of architecture, medicine, law, engineering, and economics spheres in Italian universities.
In turn, Italian ambassador expressed his own opinion on “teaching Italian language in Azerbaijan” and underlined the importance of this language in secondary schools as the initial stage.
Minister Misir Mardanov told about the planning visit to Italy in June 2 and added that the visit will focus on the discussing of these issues.
