AZERBAIJAN-OMAN RELATIONS ‘DEVELOPING RAPIDLY’
Baku, February 2 (AZERTAC). Oman`s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, has praised his country`s relations with Azerbaijan.
In an interview with AZERTAC, Yousef bin Abdullah said the relations between the two countries were developing “at a very rapid pace”.
The FM expressed confidence the scope of the Azeri-Omani relations would be further expanded.
“We`ve had very fruitful talks here in Baku and came to agreement to lay legal foundations for our cooperation in a number of spheres. These include promoting and protecting investment, avoiding double taxation, launching direct air communication, organizing reciprocal visits and joint cultural events.”
Yousef bin Abdullah praised the two countries` diplomatic relations.
“We hail the Azeri government`s decision to open embassy in Oman, it will make a great contribution to our relations from many points of view.”
The Omani minister vowed his country would reciprocate the move “in the near future”.
He also touched on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stressing Oman backs Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
“The whole international community is well aware of the fact that Armenia occupied Azerbaijan`s territories. Oman supports a solution which will be based on international legal norms,” said Yousef bin Abdullah.
