Azerbaijan to hold tourism innovation competitions
Baku, August 20, AZERTAC
Azerbaijan will hold innovation competitions aimed at enhancing tourism industry in the country, with selected pilot projects to be provided with necessary support, as outlined in the State Program for the Development of Tourism in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030.
The initiative will be implemented by Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, as well as the Ministry of Economy and will be supported during the 2027-2029 period.
The first phase will determine the innovation needs of the tourism industry, as well as develop the rules for conducting the innovation competition and the selection criteria.
The second phase involves designing the financing framework for the tourism innovations.
