Azerbaijani culture presented at US Folklore Festival

Washington, June 29 (AZERTAC). The world-famous annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival of the United States, the country’s largest cultural festival, opened in Washington, D.C.

At the opening ceremony of the Festival, held since 1967, the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution Wayne Clough said that Azerbaijan is an only country to bring “an international taste” to the festival this year. He expressed gratitude to the US Karabakh Foundation for partnership in festivals and organization of the “Azerbaijani Cosine Tent”, warmly greeting Azerbaijan’s ambassador to the United States Elin Suleymanov. The “Tent” offers delicious meals of Azerbaijani cuisine to the visitors from early morning till evening.

The Festival is expected to organize Azerbaijani music parties as well.

The Festival will last till June 8.
