Azerbaijani delegation attends 7th Asia Clean Energy Forum
Baku, June 8 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani delegation partakes in the 7th Asia Clean Energy Forum organized by the Asian Development Bank in Manila, The Philippines.
The delegation includes employees of Clean City JSC under the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Finance, the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources and Azerenerji JSC.
According to the press service of Clean City JSC, more than 380 participants from 55 countries are attending the forum.
Head of " Clean City " Department on Project Management and Public Relations Ogtay Mammadov`s presentation on Thursday on combustion plant incinerating solid household wastes, which will be completed soon, in the sidelines of the forum aroused interest.
According to Ogtay Mammadov, the plant will have the capacity to incinerate totally 500 thousand tonnes of solid household wastes per annum consisting of 2 production lines each having the capacity to process 250 thousand tonnes of solid household wastes per annum. However, if necessary the project of the plant enables to put into operation the additional 3rd line and to increase the production capacity up to 750 thousand tonnes. The plant is capable of utilizing medical wastes up to 10 thousand tonnes per annum. As a result of the process of combustion of solid household wastes the plant will generate 231,5 million KW/h electric energy. The main attention is focused on environmental protection in designing, construction and operation of the plant. The plant will meet the highest local and international environmental standards.
For the past six years, ADB`s annual flagship event, the Asia Clean Energy Forum has progressively served as the premier knowledge sharing platform for learning and exchange of experiences on key issues and latest developments in clean energy.
This year`s Forum coincides with the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All, announced by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in 2011. The Forum highlights successful strategies and mechanisms for accelerating access to affordable, low-carbon energy. Participants from Asia and around the world share practical knowledge about what works in the key areas of energy access, clean energy technology, policy and regulation, and finance and how the stakeholders can work together to accelerate low carbon energy in the region.
The 7th Asia Clean Energy Forum showcases distinguished experts from governments, financial institutions, project developers and service providers, civil society, academia, and international organizations in and around the region to share their valuable insights.
The forum features discussion on innovative programs and business models for increasing access to energy, updates on the performance and cost effectiveness of clean energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies, what policies, frameworks, and regulatory approaches work best, case studies of successful clean energy solutions from around Asia, as well as the US, Europe, Latin America, and Africa; and how energy efficiency and renewable businesses and projects can be effectively linked with sources of finance and investment.
