Azerbaijani delegation attends conference on tourism development in Caspian region
Baku, December 20 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Nazim Samadov participated in the conference and exhibition titled “Tourism development in Caspian region” in Astrakhan, Russia on December 16-17.
The conference saw discussions on tourism potential of Caspian littoral states, coordination of efforts towards development of the relevant sphere, preparing joint tourist products and regional cultural tourism routes, staff training, preparing regional tourism brand and other issues.
Azerbaijani representatives made reports and presentations in the event.
The participants underlined importance of such meetings towards boosting ties in tourism sphere.
Azerbaijan`s Deputy Culture and Tourism Minsiter Samadov met with head of the Russian Federal Tourism Agency Alexander Radkov, Astrakhan Governor Alexander Zhilkin, Culture Minister of the region Irina Tarasova as well as region`s Minister of Sport and Tourism Oleg Dementyev on the sidelines of the conference.
The meeting also discussed cruise tourism development, historical and cultural heritage preservation of the Caspian region, tourist product promotion and other themes.
