Azerbaijani envoy presents credentials to Lithuanian president
Lithuania, February 10 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s ambassador in Lithuania Hasan Mammadzade has today presented his credentials to the country`s president Dalia Grybauskaite.
The ceremony was followed by a one-on-one meeting.
Mammadzade delivered Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s greetings to the Lithuanian leader.
Grybauskaite asked the envoy to deliver her gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the attention and hospitality she witnessed during her Azerbaijan trip last year. Grybauskaite noted the importance of high-level visits, and stressed President Ilham Aliyev`s role in developing the Lithuania-Azerbaijan relations. She once again invited the Azerbaijani leader to visit Lithuania.
Mammadzade said the invitation was accepted and the preparationis already underway for the visit.
The diplomat underlined Azerbaijan is interested in expanding all-round relations, including in the fields of communications and information technologies, agriculture, education and culture.
Mammadzade said Azerbaijani businessmen will visit Lithuania in March for talks aimed at boosting the cooperation with their counterparts.
He also said Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Azubalis and Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius will visit Azerbaijan in April and June respectively. He also said the Azerbaijani Minister of Education is also expected to visit Lithuania.
The ambassador hailed the Lithuanian government`s attention to Azerbaijani students studying in the country.
