BILL “ON INTELLIGENCE AND COUNTERINTELLIGENCE” READY FOR SECOND READING
A sitting of the Milli Majlis Standing Commission on Security and Defense Affairs took place on March 27. The Committee members discussed the bill “On Intelligence and Counterintelligence” in the second reading. The Milli Majlis deputy Chairman, head of the Commission Ziyafat Asgarov said that all the remarks and proposals put forward by deputies had been taken into account: a new item was added to the paragraph 8 on rights of counterintelligence activity agents; paragraph 20 on social protection of intelligence and counterintelligence activity agents was broadened. The changes envisaged the enhancement of state care for intelligence and counterintelligence activity agents, their social security, etc. During the discussions, deputies, representatives of Ministries of Defense and National Security put forward their recommendations on the draft law.
In conclusion, the Committee members decided to submit the bill to the parliament for discussion.
