COP29 President moderates session on Caspian Sea decline in St. Petersburg

Mukhtar Babayev, President of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, is participating in the Nevsky International Ecological Congress, a key platform for discussing environmental issues, sustainable development, and the promotion of ecological culture, in St. Petersburg.
At the Congress, the COP29 President moderated a session on regional cooperation to address the declining water levels of the Caspian Sea.
During the discussions, Mukhtar Babayev invited participants to join the COP29 Declaration on Water for Climate Action and the Baku Dialogue on Water for Climate Action, which is part of the COP29 Action Agenda.
The 11th Nevsky International Ecological Congress (NIEC), held May 22-23 under the theme “Planet Earth: Living in Harmony with Nature,” includes representatives from 76 nations and 17 international organizations.
