EMBASSY OF QATAR IN AZERBAIJAN MARKS COUNTRY`S PUBLIC HOLIDAY
Baku, 19 December (AZERTAC). The embassy of Qatar in Azerbaijan organized on Friday an official reception to mark the country`s public holiday.
Opening the event, ambassador sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Jassem Al Thani said his country goes through a period of political, economic and cultural changes.
Touching upon bilateral relationship, the diplomat noted “it is developing successfully”. “Friendly relations between Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani contribute to enhancing bilateral relationship even more,”, the ambassador underlined.
He also expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would deepen in economic, cultural and education spheres, as well.
Youth and sport minister Azad Rahimov congratulated the people of Qatar on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev.
He said a visit by President Ilham Aliyev to Doha in 2004 and Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani`s trip to Baku gave a new impetus to expansion of bilateral ties founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Rahimov expressed assurance that “friendly relations” between Azerbaijan and Qatar will continue to strengthen.
The event was attended by officials, MPs, ambassadors and others.
