European Union Delegation opens “Squares of Europe” photo exhibition
Baku, February 11, AZERTAC
The European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan, in partnership with the Embassies of the EU Member States, is organizing the “Squares of Europe” photo exhibition within the sixth edition of the “FantazEU” Cultural Heritage Festival.
The Embassies of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Sweden have showcased photos depicting famous and lesser-known squares across Europe that have long served as centers of cultural life, history, and social exchange.
“This is a unique exhibition that brings together art, architecture, and cultural dialogue. Through photography, the exhibition highlights the richness and diversity of Europe’s urban heritage. The exhibition is especially timely as it coincides with the ‘Year of Urban Planning and Architecture,’ which Azerbaijan marks in 2026. We invite all Azerbaijani residents to visit the exhibition and experience Europe through its grand historical plazas, offering a visual journey across the continent,” said EU Ambassador Marijana Kujundzic.
The “Squares of Europe” photo exhibition will be open to the public from February 10 on the first floor of the Crescent Mall, 66 Neftchilar Avenue.
The programme of the FantazEU Cultural Heritage Festival will also include the organization of an exhibition of national costumes and ornaments, live arts workshops, and online city tours from EU countries.
The Arts Council of Azerbaijan is providing organizational support under a contract financed by the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan.
