French magazine “Diplomatie” issues special edition on Azerbaijan
Paris, May 6 (AZERTAC). French magazine “Diplomatie” has issued a special edition on Azerbaijan highlighting the country`s history, geopolitical situation, diplomacy and economy.
The edition features an article called “Azerbaijan: historic sketches” by researchers at the National Institute of Oriental Language and Civilization Emil and Emin Karimovs.
The edition includes an interview with head of the Foreign Relations Department at the Azerbaijani President`s Administration Novruz Mammadov, titled “Geopolitics of Azerbaijan”. In the interview, Mammadov covers Azerbaijan`s cooperation with NATO, the status of the Caspian Sea, Turkey-Armenia border issue, Madrid Principles on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the release of the Azerbaijani officer.
The edition also featured an article by teacher at Baku State University Fazil Zeynalov, who provides an insight into the causes and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The magazine also presents an article by French researcher Pierre Conesa, who sheds light on the genocide acts against Azerbaijanis committed by Armenians and internationally recognized terrorist organization “ASALA”. He touches upon the Khojaly Genocide as well as the occupation of Azerbaijan’s Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven adjacent districts by Armenians.
The edition also includes an article by Azerbaijan`s ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov, in which he hails the country`s contribution to the world science, culture and literature. The ambassador also praises Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s foreign policy as well as efforts of president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva towards developing relations between France and Azerbaijan.
In his article “L`Aigle-Naftalan”, mayor of L`Aigle Thierry Pinot highlights development of the France-Azerbaijan cooperation, praises Azerbaijan`s economic potential, and speaks of sister city relations between French L`Aigle and Azerbaijan`s Naftalan.
The edition also features an interview with French ambassador in Baku Pascal Meunier, who emphasizes the importance of the 20th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The magazine also includes articles by former French minister of transport, head of the French-Azerbaijan friendship group at the National Assembly Thierry Mariani, teacher at the French Grenoble University Fontanel Jacques, economic and commercial counselor at the French embassy in Baku Daniel Patat, and Total director general Christian Giudicelli.
