Green Week Forum hosts meeting of major groups and stakeholders
Baku, November 13 (AZERTAC). A consultative meeting of major groups and stakeholders got underway on Tuesday at Hilton hotel as part of the Green Week Forum.
Consultative meeting is aimed at creating conditions for cooperation of major groups and stakeholders with UNEP regional offices in the development of solutions to a number of environmental issues. The meeting also discusses ways of the creation of "green economy" as well as the existing problems in this area.
A Green Week project was officially launched in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku on Monday bringing together representatives of the local and international youth organizations, according to local media. The project will feature various international events, forums and meetings and will run from Nov. 12 to 16 in Baku.
As part of the project Baku is also hosting the International Youth Forum co-organized by the International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA) campaign and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
The International Youth Forum will end with the adoption of declaration that will make contributions to the fulfilment of decisions of the “Rio+20” summit and its submission to the 67th session of UN General Assembly.
