Ott Lepland is in Grand Final of Eurovision-2012
Baku, May 27 (AZERTAC). With his slow and soulful ballad Kuula, which is sung entirely in Estonian language, Ott Lepland is trying to conquer the hearts of today`s viewers of the Grand Final. He is performing on a dark stage which brightened up during the act, accompanied by a female backing singer.
In Estonia Ott Lepland has won everything that could be won: Estonian Idol in 2009; the lead role in High School Musical in 2010; the show Laulupealinn (Singing Capital) in 2011, where he represented his family`s hometown of Kardla; and Eesti Laul, the Estonian national selection of the Eurovision Song Contest, in 2012 with a song he wrote himself.
He has always beaten the competition by an impressive margin. In the final of Eesti Laul, for example, he received 67% of the votes.
Ott was already well known in Estonia when he was still a child. He released four albums of children`s songs and performed in the theatre, but left the limelight when he became a teenager and focused on his studies of music.
His vocal coach Maiken has this to say about Kuula: “This song has the potential to be the I Will Always Love You of this century - it is a powerful and simple balance with the potential to become an international hit.”
