Over 5,000 tourists already booked rooms in Azerbaijani hotels
Baku, May 20 (AZERTAC). Head of the Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTA) Nahid Bagirov has said more than 5,000 foreigners have already booked rooms in Azerbaijani hotels as the country is hosting the Eurovision-2012 Song Contest.
He said the number of tourists would increase from 21 May.
He noted that the number referred only to hotels, adding it was impossible to calculate how many people already live or would live in rented accommodation.
“In general, the major influx of tourists to Azerbaijan for Eurovision-2012 will take place on May 25, a day before the final.”
"Some tourists want to come only to the final. Therefore, we expect the record number of tourists that day," Bagirov added.
He also noted that that there wouldn`t be any problems in the placement of guests arriving for the Eurovision.
He added that tours to Gabala, Gobustan and Absheron were being organized for visitors.
