Lithuanian Health Minister to visit Azerbaijan
Baku, September 7 (AZERTAC). Lithuanian Health Minister Raimondas Sukys will visit Baku to attend the 61st session of the World Health Organization`s Regional Committee for Europe slated for September 12-15.
During the visit, Sukys will have meetings at the Ministry of Health and familiarize himself with healthcare system in Azerbaijan.
Representatives from the 53 member states in the WHO European Region will discuss issues including development of the new European policy for health, antibiotic resistance, multidrug-resistant/extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS and a policy on WHO/Europe`s geographically dispersed offices and the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies.
A memorandum of understanding to hold the session in Baku was signed during WHO Regional Director for Europe Zuzsanna Jakab`s visit to the city in March.
