MEETING OF AZERBAIJAN-KOREA INTERPARLIAMENTARY FRIENDSHIP GROUPS HELD

Baku, 16 December (AZERTAC). A meeting of Azerbaijan-Korea Interparliamentary Friendship Groups took place in Milli Majlis.

According to heads of the groups Eldar Guliyev and Suh Byung Soo, the reciprocal visits of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Korea gave an impetus to boosting cooperation between the two states and parliaments.

Mr. Guliyev said Korea was one of the first countries that established diplomatic ties after Azerbaijan regained its independence. A visit of Milli Majlis speaker Ogtay Asadov to Korea in 2007 opened a new stage in development of parliamentary relations.

Mr. Soo praised development of Azerbaijan`s economy in spite of world crisis. He said there were good prospects for development of ties in various areas.

The members of the groups familiarized themselves with conference hall of Milli Majlis and memorable hall to nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev.
