Memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev honored in Stockholm

A classical music concert dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev has been held in Stockholm.
The event, held in the "Baroque" hall of the Swedish History Museum, was attended by staff from the Azerbaijani Embassy in Sweden, the head of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus representative office in Stockholm, Hakan Aksoy, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora from various Swedish cities, guests from Denmark, and Swedish classical music enthusiasts.
Organized by the "Gobustan" Society of Azerbaijani Intellectuals with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the event was held at the initiative of Aynur Malikova, an Azerbaijani pianist living in Sweden.
Speaking before the concert, Saadat Karimi, Chairperson of the "Gobustan" Society, noted that Heydar Aliyev went down in history as a leader who played a vital role in strengthening Azerbaijan’s independence and international prestige. She particularly emphasized Heydar Aliyev’s contributions to the development of the arts and the preservation of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage, stating that he considered culture an essential component of national identity.
The concert program featured works by Azerbaijani and European composers performed by Aynur Malikova, Swedish flutist Catrin Spångberg, and Azerbaijani tar player Sakhavat Mammadov. The program included excerpts from Gara Garayev’s ballet Path of Thunder, Fikrat Amirov’s Six Miniatures, Niyazi’s romance Arzu, the "Dance of the Turkish Girls" from Arif Melikov’s ballet Legend of Love, as well as Vittorio Monti’s Csárdás, Astor Piazzolla’s Libertango, and other masterpieces.
The concert program was received with great interest by the audience.
