OSCE chair wants progress in conflict resolution
Baku, February 9 (AZERTAC). OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Irish Deputy Prime Minister Eamon Gilmore has expressed the Chairmanship`s readiness “to make progress on resolving protracted conflicts, including the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, during 2012,’
Speaking at the US Helsinki Commission in Washington DC, Gilmore said: “We commend the continuing work of the Minsk Group co-Chairs in addressing the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. I look forward to working closely with Ambassador Bob Bradtke and the other Co-Chairs and members of the Minsk Group throughout my term in office.”
Stressing the potential lessons from Ireland`s own experience in conflict resolution, the chairman mentioned that “we in Ireland can empathize only too well with those who are engaged in seemingly intractable conflicts”.
