REGULAR MEETING OF PACE MONITORING COMMITTEE
A regular meeting of the Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly Monitoring Committee was held in Paris on March 3. Heated debates have taken place over honoring commitment and obligations to CE assumed by Ukraine, Albania, Latvia, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and monitoring results on Turkey.
Although there was no Azerbaijan related issue on the agenda, deputies Bakhtiyar Aliyev, Naira Shakhtakhtinskaya and Asim Mollazadeh took active part in the discussions and expressed appropriate stance of the country. Turkish deputy proposed to stop monitoring in his country that was supported by our delegation. As the opinion was shared by other deputies, the Committee had to take a decision to stop the monitoring processes in Turkey.
The meeting participants also heard and appreciated the report by Azerbaijan’s delegate Naira Shakhtakhtinskaya on honoring commitments and obligations to CE undertaken by Bosnia and Herzegovina.
