Role of strategic environmental assessment in urban planning discussed at WUF13

An event titled “Strategic Environmental Assessment as a Tool for Achieving Climate Targets in Urban Planning” was held as part of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), co-organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
The event featured speeches by Rashad Ismayilov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and others.
The panel discussions included representatives from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Environment Urbanization and Climate Change of Turkiye, the Ministry of the Environment Climate and Energy of Slovenia, the Netherlands Commission on Environmental Assessment (hybrid format), as well as members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
