RUSSIA, UKRAINE REACH SOME AGREEMENTS ON OIL TRANSIT
Russia and Ukraine have agreed on a number of essential aspects of oil transit via Ukraine. “We have a few details left,” Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said after the tenth session of the Russian-Ukrainian Cooperation Commission on Friday.
“We have done a lot to estimate the balance of oil, suppliers and consumers,” he added.
Fradkov denied claims that the delay in signing an agreement on Russian oil transit via Ukraine was caused by lobbying of the Odessa-Brody project. “We should give a boost to economic entities and create fair and favorable conditions for business in the light of the future Common Economic Space,” Fradkov said.
He said they reached a technical agreement on the Odessa-Brody project, and they would have to discuss the pipeline’s provision with oil in the future.
The Russian-Ukrainian Cooperation Commission will have its next session in Kiev in winter.
