SMALL GRANTS FOR 2004 PRESENTED
As was informed by AzerTAj, specialist on operations of the WB representation Saida Bagirova and deputy director of Baku Representation of Eurasian Fund Jamal Shahverdiyev updated on the program. It was noted that total amount earmarked y the Program for each of the three organizations, makes up 100 thousand dollars. The goal of the program is to boost up activity of unprofitable, non-governmental, non-educational organizations. Beginning form the current year, development of municipalities will be one of the priorities of the Program.
Speakers gave detailed information on terms of selection and rules of use of the received amount.
The Projects should be compiled for a year. The grant amount allotted in the frame of each project, can reach 12 thousand US dollars. Usually from the presented 100 projects will be selected 7. And political activity, projects for research, official educational-training programs are not financed and also personal assistance is not rendered. Applications are accepted until 31 March current year in the office of World Bank in Baku. Decision of granting will be known on 10 May.
