The spring session of the Milli Majlis commenced on March 1. Chairman Murtuz Alasgarov reported on the autumn session results. During the previous session, according to him, 94 laws and decrees were passed while some bills were discussed in the first and second readings. Within certain time, much work was done to develop international ties and MM delegations took an active part in international events. The winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was especially successful. The documents adopted at the PACE included a phrase “occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and other territories by Armenia”. Azerbaijan-related resolution virtually stipulated the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and other territories of Azerbaijan and the fact that conflict was going on between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The government and parliament of Azerbaijan have been pursuing a firm and consistent policy to bring the truth on crimes committed by Armenian nationalists against Azerbaijanis, including Khojali genocide to the world’s countries and international community.
The agenda of the MM spring session included such bills as “On state flag of Azerbaijan Republic”, “On national security”, “On intelligence and counterintelligence”, “On education”, “On export control” “On private farms”, “On science and state scientific-technical policy”, “On administrative procedure”, “On provision of pensions for civil servants”
