Baku, January 8, AZERTAC
Thousands of customers in the Republic of Ireland are still without water and electricity as snow and icy weather conditions continue, BBC reported.
Irish national weather forecaster Met Éireann issued a yellow warning for snow and ice on Monday afternoon for the Republic of Ireland. This will remain in place until 12:00 local time on Friday.
An orange low temperature and ice warning for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Munster and Connacht will come into effect at 18:00 local time on Wednesday.
This warning will remain in place until 11:00 local time on Thursday.
Met Éireann reported that the lowest temperature recorded overnight was -5.7C at Casement Aerodrome in County Dublin.
Transport operator Bus Éireann has announced a number of cancellations as the adverse weather conditions continue to impact its routes.
Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) say all routes are planned to operate, but delays and disruption may occur.
Uisce Éireann is reporting that less than 4,000 customers are without water supply across counties Tipperary, Limerick, Kerry and Cork.
It says water supplies remain "at risk" due to low reservoir levels which could affect 24,000 people.
It said "concerns remain" for further outages due to "freezing ground conditions" and possible bursts in the water main network "over the next few days".
As of 06:45 local time on Wednesday, ESB Networks, which runs the power grid, reports there are approximately 4,000 homes, farms and businesses are without supply.
The main locations affected are counties Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary.
