UNESCO`s “Man and Biosphere” Azerbaijan National Committee presents annual edition
Baku, April 13 (AZERTAC). The UNESCO/MAB (“Man and Biosphere”) Azerbaijan National Committee has today presented its annual edition.
Mahmud Karimov, the president of Azerbaijan National Academy of Science (ANSA) updated on the main issues of the edition. He stressed that ecological civilization, sustainable development and environmental problems were analyzed in the edition.
Karimov highlighted the progress achieved in ecological sphere in Azerbaijan. He especially stressed the importance to expand teaching of ecological sciences in universities.
Secretary-General of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO Gunay Afandiyeva highly praised the edition which includes articles by scientists from Azerbaijan and other countries. “Present day ecological problems are one of the important themes for all countries”, she underlined.
Afandiyeva noted that Azerbaijan has achieved great success in solving environmental problems. She expressed her confidence that the annual edition would contribute to the development of ecological sphere in Azerbaijan.
