UNFCCC Executive Secretary: We are striving to find new solutions within COP29

“Only by working in partnership can we achieve successful outcomes on any issue. We are striving to find new solutions within the COP29 in all areas affected by climate change,” said Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), as he addressed “TROIKA Roadmap to Mission 1.5: Enhancing International Cooperation” event themed “Enhance Ambition and Enable Action” in Baku on Thursday.
According to him, COP29 must play a catalyzing role in finding new solutions.
“The goals mentioned in the Paris Agreement are a roadmap for the future environmental policies of all countries. I think that the COP29, to be hosted by Azerbaijan, will shed light on this roadmap,” Simon Stiell added.
