Wining birdhouses of IDEA design competition installed in Moscow
Baku, April 25 (AZERTAC). According to the sketch of the winner’s work of "Birdhouse design" competition, birdhouses were installed in the botanical garden of the Moscow State University.
Construction of the birdhouses which play very important role in the restoring of the cities' ecological balance was dedicated to the International Migratory Birds Day celebrating every year.
It should be noted that, analogical action was conducted in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan, a while ago.
Rapid growth of global ecological problems as a result of anthropogenic action in the contemporary world causes degradation of ecosystems, destruction of plant and animal species.
Rapid decline of biodiversity does not avoid from bird species as all the components of nature.
As known, IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign announced competition under the name of "Birdhouses design” on the occasion of International Migratory Birds Day in May 2012 to increase awareness of public in the protection of birds and form special careful attitude to the nature. More than 100 sketches were submitted to the competition.
International Dialogue for Environmental Action is an international campaign launched by Leyla Aliyeva on July 12, 2011 in Baku. Leyla Aliyeva saw quite clearly, through her youth work, that the environment was a key cause of concern for young people in Azerbaijan as it is in the region and the world. The concern was real, but the path which young people could take to find out more, to network with others, and to mobilize for action was far from clear.
