WORLD JUNIOR & GIRLS CHESS CHAMP-2003 IN PROGRESS
The 9th round of the Junior Chess Championship was held at the Olympic Sports Complex of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. In the match of two Azerbaijani chess players Vugar Gasimov and Shahriyar Mammadov, the latter won. At the same round, Azerbaijani chess player Gadir Huseynov bested the Indian Pentala Harikrishna, while the Belarusian Sergey Azarov defeated the Polish Marchin Dziuba. On the results of this round, Shahriyar Mammadov is leading the table with 7 points. On the same day, in the girl’s section, the Georgian player Nana Janigidze, winning Turkish Topel Zahra, is leading with 5 points in the seventh round. Azerbaijani Zeynab Mammadyarova lost to the Indian Harika Dronavalliya, and thus was the third in the list at present. World championship goes on.
