12 people killed in tragic road accident in Pakistan

In Pakistan, at least 12 people were killed and 13 others got injured when a trailer lost control and ploughed into vehicles on the Indus Highway in district Karak in KPK province on Saturday.

Rescue and Police officials have confirmed that the accident occurred due to brake failure of the vehicle. The Deputy Commissioner had confirmed the death of of many people in the accident.

He said that emergency responders are still pulling bodies and survivors from the wreckage, including a passenger bus crushed beneath the lorry. He said that hospitals in the area were on red alert after the accident.

The Police officials have said that the death toll could rise as rescue teams are working to retrieve victims from the accident site. A passenger coach is still under the lorry. After hectic efforts, police and rescue officials have restored traffic on the highway.
