20 January tragedy commemorated at Sofia MENAR International Film Festival

An Azerbaijani film gala was held in Sofia as part of the 18th MENAR International Film Festival.
The event featured a short video highlighting the 36th anniversary of the 20 January tragedy, as well as the film "Dars" (The Lesson), presented by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Chingiz Garibli, Chargé d'Affaires of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Bulgaria, noted that the 20 January tragedy is a heroic and glorious page in Azerbaijan's history. He emphasized that although the Soviet army aimed to break the will of the Azerbaijani people for freedom by committing the 20 January massacre, these events further strengthened the people's resolve for independence.
