Branch of Confucius Institute opens at Khazar University
Baku, April 19 (AZERTAC). A branch of Baku State University (BSU) Confucius Institute has opened at Khazar University as part of China`s Culture Day.
The opening was attended by Chinese ambassador to Azerbaijan Hong Tsuyin.
Speaking to the event, founder and chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees of Khazar University Hamlet Isakhanli praised China`s contribution in the world culture. He hailed China`s economic development, calling the country one of the most powerful economies in the world. Isakhanli also touched upon the Azerbaijan-China relationship. He stressed the role of Confucius Institutes in introducing Chinese culture to the world and establishing cultural, economic and scientific relations between China and other countries.
Ambassador Tsuyin stressed the importance of interest in Chinese language and culture in Azerbaijan, noting this positively affects multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.
Khazar University and the Confucius Institute signed a bilateral agreement.
Following the signing ceremony participants viewed an exhibition of Chinese calligraphy, fine arts and crafts, and watched a Chinese national dance and listened to Chinese national songs performed by Khazar University students.
