Azerbaijan attends 11th Session of CIS Council of Heads of Migration Agencies
Baku, June 20 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani delegation has attended the 11th Session of the Council of Heads of Migration Agencies of CIS countries in Troitsk, Russia.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by deputy chief of the State Migration Service Parviz Musayev.
Musayev addressed the session to highlight the Azerbaijani government`s migration policy.
He made a report on the work done by the State Migration Service in the first five years of the current year. Musayev said nearly 6,000 foreign citizens broke Azerbaijan`s Administrative Punishment Code in the reporting period. “More than 1,300 of them were fined, 4,000 foreign citizens were deported from the country for 48 hours, while 669 were completely deported.”
Musayev hailed the founding by a decree of President Ilham Aliyev of the Common Migration Information System, adding it made a tremendous contribution to facilitating the migration administration. He said the Service launched and was successfully applying an electronic registration system for foreign citizens and persons without citizenship.
The Service deputy chief also touched upon Azerbaijan`s migration legislation, saying a number of new laws had been adopted.
The Session`s participants discussed the situation of migration service in CIS countries, summarized the results of a project of cooperation program on countering illegal migration during 2009-2011, and considered the experience of the Russian Federation`s Migration Service in granting patents for the implementation of employment.
Musayev was honored with the “Russian Federation Migration Service - 20” Medal, and Azerbaijani delegate Kayan Hajiyev received the Federal Migration Service chief`s praises.
The next session will take place in Kyrgyzstan.
