Azerbaijan, Türkiye explore legal cooperation

At the invitation of Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, a delegation led by Muhsin Şentürk, Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of Appeal of Türkiye, visited Baku to discuss legal cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the officials praised the dynamic development of cooperation between the law enforcement authorities of the two countries.
The meeting underscored that the existing relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, grounded in the “One nation, two states” concept proposed by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, have been further strengthened thanks to the close relations between the two countries’ leaders and their strong political will, thus contributing to cooperation in all areas, including the legal sector.
The officials noted that this collaboration has a positive impact on the development of the legal systems of both states, strengthening the fight against crime and expanding international legal cooperation.
Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev briefed the Turkish delegation on Azerbaijan’s efforts toward the digitalization of prosecutorial activities, the implementation of modern management mechanisms, and institutional development.
Prosecutor General Muhsin Şentürk noted that his institution places great emphasis on developing cooperation with Azerbaijan, expressing confidence in the further enhancement of bilateral legal collaboration.
The discussions focused on cooperation in the fight against crime, with the sides agreeing to continue collaboration in extradition, legal assistance, training of prosecutors, and other areas.
They also stressed the importance of cooperation on international platforms, particularly within the Council of Prosecutors General of the Organization of Turkic States.
Kamran Aliyev awarded Muhsin Şentürk the 100th Anniversary Jubilee Medal of the Azerbaijani Prosecution Service in recognition of his contributions to the development of cooperation between the legal bodies of the two countries.
