Azerbaijan, World Bank eye cooperation on infrastructure, digital development and energy

Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economy has met with Charles J. Cormier, Regional Director for Infrastructure for Europe and Central Asia at World Bank, as well as Asad Alam, the Regional Director for Eastern and Southern Africa for the Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions (EFI) Vice Presidency of the World Bank.
Mikayil Jabbarov hailed successful cooperation with the World Bank in connection with investment climate improvement, public-private sector partnership, private sector diagnostics, innovations, development of management technologies, support for small and medium enterprises and other areas.
Charles J. Cormier expressed their interest in close cooperation with the Government of Azerbaijan in order to achieve the Bank's strategic development goals, and shared his views on the projects to be financed by the Bank.
The meeting also focused on the projects implemented in Azerbaijan with the support of the World Bank and the prospects of cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, digital development and energy.
