AZERTAC and Vietnam News Agency to strengthen information exchange

The Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) have agreed to strengthen information exchange following a bilateral meeting between Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC Vugar Aliyev and VNA General Director Vu Viet Trang.
The current state of bilateral relations was the main focus of the meeting, which was held in Moscow on the sidelines of a media forum marking the 65th anniversary of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA).
Highlighting the importance attached to cooperation with VNA, Vugar Aliyev noted the need for news agencies to further expand cooperation amid the strong influence of social media. He said that bilateral news exchange was one of the clearest indicators of such cooperation, emphasizing the need to pay greater attention to this area. “This plays a vital role in disseminating the most accurate information about our countries while simultaneously preventing the distortion of facts,” he added.
Stating that cooperation with AZERTAC is equally important for VNA, Vu Viet Trang underlined VNA's annual participation in the Shusha Global Media Forum. She said that information provided by news agencies as reliable sources serves as a powerful tool in combating disinformation. She also emphasized that VNA would step up efforts to expand news exchange.
AZERTAC and VNA signed a new memorandum of cooperation in Baku in May last year. Both agencies successfully cooperate within the framework of OANA.
