Sadyr Zhaparov: I support extending Azerbaijan’s CICA chairmanship until 2028
Baku, October 15, AZERTAC
“Azerbaijan has done a great deal and made significant contributions on the sidelines of the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). I support extending Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of CICA until 2028,” President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov said in his address at the summit, held in Baku.
The Kyrgyz President noted that strengthening digitalization across Asia is one of the key tasks facing countries seeking to build a stronger CICA.
“The Asian continent is a dynamic participant. According to United Nations reports, Asia is expected to account for 59 percent of global economic growth in 2026. Naturally, new challenges and international conflicts are emerging. International and transport routes are changing, technological transformation is accelerating, and environmental and climate risks are increasing.
In this context, the Kyrgyz Republic regards CICA as one of the crucial platforms for open dialogue,” Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized.
