Azerbaijan and Germany consider expanding energy cooperation

Baku, September 22, AZERTAC

Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Dirk Lölke, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

The meeting highlighted the importance of President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to Germany and the Joint Declaration on a Strategic Agenda for the Bilateral Partnership signed in Berlin. It was noted that the agreements reached during the visit opened up new opportunities for expanding energy cooperation between the two countries.

The sides discussed Azerbaijani gas supplies to Germany, renewable energy potential, electricity grid development, and green energy exports to Europe via the “Caspian–Black Sea–Europe Green Energy Corridor.” They also expressed mutual interest in expanding cooperation in energy security, the energy transition, oil and gas, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.
