Azerbaijani, Iranian first ladies meet
November 17 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva has today met the Iranian President`s spouse Azam al-Sadat Farahi.
Mehriban Aliyeva told the Iranian first lady of the Foundation`s goals. She said the Foundation aimed to study and popularize Heydar Aliyev`s rich heritage, give an idea to future generations and foreign visitors about his large-scale activity to achieve Azerbaijan`s socio-economic, cultural progress, and assist projects which popularize the country`s history and culture.
Azam al-Sadat Farahi said she was pleased to be visiting Azerbaijan. She thanked Mehriban Aliyeva for warm reception and hospitality.
Mrs. Farahi said their meeting with Azerbaijan`s first lady marked the beginning of future meetings. The Iranian first lady invited Mehriban Aliyeva to Tehran.
The Azerbaijani first lady expressed confidence Mrs. Farahi would get pleasant impressions from visiting must-see places in Baku.
