Azerbaijan’s CICA chairmanship places strong emphasis on the human dimension

Baku, October 27, AZERTAC

“Azerbaijan has held the chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) since 2024. Over the past two years, particular emphasis has been placed on the human dimension within the framework of a human-centred approach,” said Zhang Ling, Deputy Secretary-General of CICA, during a plenary session entitled “Culture at the Centre: SECUREd Pathways to a Shared Future,” held as part of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.

According to her, at the 7th CICA Summit, held in Baku on October 15, member states reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening trust, cooperation and stability in Asia.

She emphasized that the Baku Declaration adopted at the summit reflected the very human-centred approach being discussed at the Forum.
