Bucharest, April 26, AZERTAC
A delegation of Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) has attended the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) conference held under the theme "News Agencies and Changing Market: Strategies for New Developing Content" in Bucharest, Romania.
The conference brought together more than 30 news agencies, including heads and representatives of the UK`s Press Association, Russian TASS, Turkish Anadolu, German DPA, Austrian APA, Ukrainian Ukrinform, Bulgarian BTA, Albanian ATA news agencies.
In their remarks, Director General of Romanian AGERPRES agency Alexandru Giboi and Director of the Swedish agency TT, EANA President Jonas Eriksson emphasized the importance of using the right mechanisms in the field of public information.
The conference participants were informed of the preliminary results of a survey jointly conducted by Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and London School of Economics. Only 22 of the EANA member agencies participated in the survey, which aimed to ensure the continued development of European news agencies.
Alexandru Giboi said that they are using innovations in order to provide users with quality news. Noting that the government's influence on AGERPRES reduced, he said they are trying to use new media products and news distribution techniques, which will let them benefit from the private sector that seeks to advertise their products.
CEO of the Austrian APA agency Clemens Pig said that the national news agency's advertising platform will play a key role in developing the traditional media.
