Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Football Association decides against friendly with Russia November 19

The Executive Board of the Football Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina has decided against playing a friendly match with Russia’s national team, which was to be held in St. Petersburg on November 19, the press service of the Football Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina said on Monday, according to TASS.
The friendly match between the national team of Bosnia- Herzegovina and the team of Russia, which was supposed to take place in St. Petersburg on November 19, will not be played. It has been postponed, the news release says.
The press service of the Football Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina announced on September 9 that the national team would play a friendly against the Russian team in St. Petersburg on November 19. On the same day, the communications service of the Russian Football Union (RFU) said that there was an agreement on this game in principle. The leaders of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s national team, including its captain Edin Dzeko, said they were against the match.
Later, the Ukrainian Football Association (UFA) called on the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to prevent a friendly match between Russia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The UEFA press service told TASS that a friendly match between the national teams of Russia and Bosnia-Herzegovina would not contradict the decision of the organization’s executive committee to bar Russian clubs from participation in European competitions in the 2022/23 season and the Russian men's team, from participation in the Nations League.
