JUBILEE OF EMINENT AZERBAIJANI PAINTER SATTAR BAHLULZADE MARKED IN UNESCO
Baku, 19 November (AZERTAC). The exhibition featuring landscape paintings of the outstanding Azerbaijani artist Sattar Bahlulzade opened on November 17 at the UNESCO headquarters’ art gallery in Paris as part of the Day of Azerbaijan. The exposition was organized to mark the 100th birthday of the founder of Azerbaijan landscape painting. The opening ceremony was addressed by Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Elchin Efendiyev and minister of culture Abulfaz Garayev who led the Azerbaijani delegation. Speakers told about life and career of Sattar, about his endless love to beautiful nature of Azerbaijan, which has encouraged Sattar to produce originals and express his own perception of his country. The landscape paintings of Sattar Bahlulzade are lyrically melodious and colorful, mainly reflecting sunny Absheron Peninsula, the legendary Oil Rocks, a full town in the sea, which he liked to paint, participants emphasized.
The exhibition was attended by Ms Françoise Riviere, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture.
