Kazakhstani delegation expresses readiness to expand cooperation with AZERTAC
Baku, April 7, AZERTAC
Kazakhstan’s delegation, led by Vice Minister of Culture and Information Rustam Ali, visited the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) during a trip to Azerbaijan. The delegation included Erlan Zhetybayev, Chairman of the International Information Committee of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry, and Temirlan Bakhytzhan, attaché of the Kazakh Embassy in Azerbaijan.
During a meeting with Chairman of the AZERTAC Board Vugar Aliyev, the parties discussed current media cooperation, the expansion of information exchange, and prospects for joint projects.
Vugar Aliyev noted that sustainable information exchange and cooperation within international media platforms have been established between AZERTAC and Kazakh media, particularly Kazinform.
He emphasized the importance of developing cooperation through joint projects and active news exchange, highlighting the goal of delivering accurate and prompt information about both countries.
Vugar Aliyev also noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are developing dynamically thanks to the political will of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, pointing to the growing strategic partnership, fraternal ties, shared Turkic values, and economic cooperation.
Addressing challenges in the media industry, he said that while social networks help disseminate information, they also contribute to the spread of fake news. He noted that news agencies actively use fact-checking, artificial intelligence technologies, and verification tools to combat misinformation, and that AZERTAC is implementing new AI technologies in its activities.
After informing the delegation about the significance of the Shusha Global Media Forum, Vugar Aliyev noted that the forum has already become a traditional international platform for exchanging experience and cooperation.
“The Shusha Global Media Forum promotes the development of contacts, the exchange of experience, and the conclusion of new agreements between media outlets of different countries,” he said.
He also highlighted interest from foreign media outlets in cooperation with AZERTAC.
During the meeting, the delegation was provided with detailed information about the agency’s activities. He noted that AZERTAC maintains 22 foreign correspondent offices and publishes news in eight languages.
Rustam Ali emphasized the high level of development of the media sector in Azerbaijan and highlighted the importance of strengthening professional ties between the journalistic communities of the two countries.
“Brotherly relations have developed between our countries. Despite the geographical distance, we are united by common values and close humanitarian ties. Such visits contribute to the exchange of experience and better mutual understanding,” he said.
Rustam Ali stressed that special attention should be paid to the development of human capital, including support for young professionals in the media industry.
“The exchange of experience and the development of youth potential are the foundation of our cooperation. It is important to unite the efforts of the professional journalistic community and young personnel to promote joint initiatives,” the vice minister noted.
Rustam Ali also said that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to the development and implementation of artificial intelligence in the country.
“We hope that by the end of this year there will be visible results in the application of AI in Kazakhstan,” he added.
During the conversation, the parties also discussed the organization of reciprocal visits of journalists and the implementation of joint media projects.
At the end of the visit, the delegation toured the news desks, visiting the news production and multimedia content departments.
