Kingdom of Butterfly in Bantimurung Nature Park, Indonesia

Various types of butterflies perch on the edge of the lake in the Bantimurung Nature Park area, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Bantimurung Nature Park has been nicknamed the Kingdom of Butterfly, there are about 240 species of butterflies that live in the area, and the appearance of so many butterflies only occurs twice a year, during the transition from the rainy season to the dry season or vice versa.
Bantimurung National Park was established as a nature conservation area in 2004. The park with about 43,770 hectares width is located in Bantimurung District, Maros, South Sulawesi.
There are natural destination of steep limestone hill valleys with tropical vegetation, waterfalls, and caves which the habitat of various fauna species, including butterflies.
In this location, there are at least 20 species of butterflies that are protected. In fact, several unique and even endemic species are found in this area.
