Lachin International Film Festival begins in Azerbaijan

The Lachin International Film Festival (LIFF 2026), the first international film festival in Garabagh and East Zangezur, has commenced in the city of Lachin.
The festival will continue until August 27, featuring selected films from around the world, along with panel discussions and other events involving local and international cinema experts.
Out of nearly 300 submissions from 47 countries, 38 films, including 20 foreign and 18 Azerbaijani productions, were selected for the official program.
The event is expected to bring together filmmakers from Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Iran, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Greece, Norway, France, Ukraine, Pakistan, and other countries.
On August 24–26, “LaCinema,” the cinema venue in Lachin, will host the main screenings of films from Azerbaijan, Germany, Poland, Uzbekistan, Spain, Türkiye, Indonesia, Moldova, Greece, Serbia, Ukraine, India, and other countries.
The official opening ceremony will be held on August 25, followed by a panel discussion dedicated to Azerbaijan–Türkiye film cooperation. The panel, featuring renowned cinema experts, will discuss opportunities for joint productions and creative collaboration.
The festival will conclude with a closing and award ceremony on August 26, coinciding with Lachin City Day.
