Members of TGNA committee on equal opportunities visit Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis

On April 15, members of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs met with a delegation led by Çiğdem Erdoğan, Chairperson of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TGNA) Commission on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men, who are visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the inaugural meeting of the CICA Women’s Council.
During the meeting, Hijran Huseynova, Chairperson of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs, highlighted the importance of the issues discussed at the CICA Women’s Council meeting, emphasizing cooperation at bilateral, organizational, and Turkic states levels. She also underscored its significance for gender equality, women’s participation in public life, support for women entrepreneurs, and the exchange of experience between women of both countries.
Noting that Azerbaijan–Türkiye relations continue to strengthen, Hijran Huseynova emphasized the mutual support between the two countries and peoples, the key role of parliaments in enhancing ties, and the importance of expanding cooperation between parliamentary committees.
Çiğdem Erdoğan provided an overview of her committee’s activities, praised the CICA Women’s Council meeting held under Azerbaijan’s chairmanship, and stressed that such events contribute to promoting countries, strengthening relations, and developing new areas of cooperation.
Recalling the cooperation protocol between the Azerbaijani and Turkish parliamentary committees, she emphasized the importance of further strengthening ties through increased engagement, including reciprocal visits and meetings.
Highlighting the fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Jale Aliyeva, Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs, committee member Mushfig Mammadli, and Turkish delegation member Songül Uzun emphasized the importance of fostering ties among women, supporting their development, and increasing their economic participation.
