Nikita Mikhalkov congratulates Shafiga Mammadova on new appointment
Baku, June 25 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation Nikita Mikhalkov has congratulated People's Artist of Azerbaijan Shafiga Mammadova on her appointment as the Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan Republic.
The congratulatory message reads: "It was not our fault that cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Russian Unions of Cinematographers interrupted for the past 20 years. Personal contacts between the filmmakers of our countries continued."
Nikita Mikhalkov said he hopes good relations between the unions of cinematographers of the two countries will be restored. He has also invited Shafiga Mammadova in Moscow on a friendly visit.
